ABEX EXHIBITS is a custom exhibit & display manufacturing company with 42 years in business. We provide custom trade show booth solutions for purchase and turn-key exhibits customized for rental.

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Los Angeles office. A Project Manager is responsible for accurately & efficiently managing the production details, activities and scheduling aspects of each assigned project. A Project Manager will primarily support custom built properties being utilized at tradeshows, events and permanent environments. Additional requirements such as Communicating between ABEX General Manager (responsible for supervising Production) and Set Up Supervisor as well as supporting the Sales team in Estimating services like Freight, Labor, assisting clients with coordination of General Contractor order forms, are additional core responsibilities of Project Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all ABEX EXHIBITS processes and policies accurately and efficiently.

  • Utilize ABEX EXHIBITS project management tool Basecamp in conjunction with email to properly communicate to operational departments.

  • Communicate and work effectively with ABEX EXHIBITS management team (General Manager, Install Supervisor, Set up/Install crew) on all project deliverables.

  • Address and help ‘trouble-shoot’ issues that arise with a project, both with the client and/or internal stakeholders.

  • Responsible to support Sales team in efforts be accurately estimate Labor, Supervision, Logistics, Travel expenses (airfare, hotel, etc..) for the purpose of capturing all job costs.

  • Accurately, effectively manage any sized project with limited supervision.

  • Utilizing knowledge of production techniques to ensure accurate deliverables.

  • Collaborate with Design to select finishes, confirm availability and secure approvals.

  • Establish and maintain work back schedules and communicate changes to appropriate team members.

  • Coordinate sub-contractor and supplier services.

  • Complete & accurately reconcile all core operational elements in a project in a timely manner.

  • Participate, collaborate in post project reviews.

  • Mentor, train and provide guidance to Project Coordinators and/or Customer Service Representative.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

  • Possesses an aptitude for structural mechanics with the ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.

  • Must be passionate about working with people and be customer-centric.

  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial and independent environment.

  • Embodies flexibility, open-mindedness and receptivity.

  • Actively able to problem-solve and work out solutions.

  • Knowledge of Basecamp app/software and how to use.

  • Identifies something valuable in being part of a team and ability to effectively collaborate.

  • Effective communication skills are required.

  • Must be able to develop excellent rapport with existing and prospective clients.

  • Must have a good “business sense”.

  • Exhibit the ability to multi-task and operate under severe time constraints and immovable deadlines. Good organization, detail and follow-up skills are required.

  • Proficient using Microsoft office and Adobe (Acrobat, Basic Photoshop skills a plus) programs.

  • Exhibit familiarity with show rules and regulations related to exhibit designs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of production materials and the extent to which these may be utilized in production.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours when/as required.

  • Ability to travel to onsite deliverables when appropriate.

  • 5-10 years’ experience as an Project Manager in the exhibit industry preferred or similar experience successfully executing projects and programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
